Pike Road might have been the surprise of the area last season, scraping by playoff wins on the strength of an aggressive defense to advance to the semifinals of the 6A playoffs.
This year, it could be the offense’s turn to carry the Patriots into the postseason.
“We were one game away from the ultimate goal for every team in the state, so we didn’t really want to focus on that aspect of it,” Pike Road coach Granger Shook said. “We really wanted to focus on becoming closer as a team and becoming closer as a staff. We have a weekly plan that outlines and hopefully creates a path for our team to do that.”
