From Start-Up to 100 Wins; 9 Years Flies By Fast

PIKE ROAD, Ala. — In less than a decade of varsity play, Pike Road has rocketed from a brand-new program to a state champion and perennial region power. The Patriots reached a milestone with their 100th all-time victory on Sept. 12, 2025, a 29–6 road win at Wetumpka, a result that also moved them to 3–1 (2–0) this fall.

The modern program launched with JV seasons in 2016–17 and entered AHSAA championship play in 2018. Since then: five region titles (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024), an undefeated 5A state championship in 2021, and a growing alumni tree feeding the SEC and Big Ten.

The AHSAA’s recap underscores the rapid ascent: JV in 2016–17, playoff play by 2018, then an undefeated title in Year 4 of varsity competition.

The Milestone & What’s Next

With Win No. 100 secured at Wetumpka and a 3–1 start in 2025, the Patriots again sit atop the Montgomery-area conversation, buoyed by a defense that just posted a region shutout and an offense that hung 63 on Rehobeth. Region 2 showdowns with Percy Julian, Opelika, Park Crossing, Stanhope Elmore, Russell County and a non-region closer at Charles Henderson will shape the path back to November.
